Warner Bros. gave journalists and influencers a 4DX preview of "The End of Oak Street," a sci-fi thriller starring Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor as a married couple whose home is torn from its ordinary suburban neighbourhood by a cosmic event and dropped into a world overrun by dinosaurs. Directed by David Robert Mitchell ("It Follows") and produced by J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot, the film pairs blockbuster spectacle with an emphasis on family drama, positioning it as an end-of-summer release with both scale and emotional stakes.

At a Los Angeles screening on 18 July, attendees watched 14 minutes of new footage in 4DX, complete with rocking seats and water sprays timed to dinosaur attacks, showing Hathaway and McGregor's characters, Denise and Greg, searching for their dog while their children, played by Maisy Stella and Christian Convery, are left behind. The couple splits up, dodges a fast-moving dinosaur and tries to flee by car, only to discover the full scale of their predicament. Mitchell told the audience he was drawn to grounding the fantastical premise in the familiarity of an ordinary neighbourhood, while he and Abrams stressed that each family member carries a personal secret that keeps the story emotionally anchored amid the chaos.
