Megan Rapinoe Is Launching Her Own Interview Podcast, ‘Why Are You Like This?’
Megan Rapinoe, the US football star and activist, is launching a new weekly interview podcast called "Why Are You Like This?", produced and distributed by Vox Media. The show will see Rapinoe in conversation with artists, athletes, activists and other cultural figures, exploring what drives them both personally and professionally. It marks a new venture for Rapinoe beyond her previous podcasting work and reflects her broader move into media and entrepreneurship following her playing career.
The podcast premieres on Thursday 6 August, with new episodes released weekly on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube and other platforms, each running around an hour. Rapinoe, a two-time World Cup champion and Olympic gold medallist, has not disclosed her line-up of guests but says the show will feature "some of the world's most interesting people," with occasional forays into women's sport ahead of the 2027 Women's World Cup. She previously co-hosted "A Touch More" with Sue Bird, and the new show joins other Vox Media Podcast Network titles including "Pivot" and "Pretty Tough".
