Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats have announced their seventh studio album, "Shapes of Midnight", and released its title track as a first taste of the record. The Cambridge band's return marks their first full-length since 2024's "Nell' Ora Blu" and sees them revisit the guitar-driven sound of their earlier work while continuing to evolve their distinctive blend of psychedelic pop and proto-metal heaviness.

The album is a concept record partly inspired by Edgar Allan Poe's "The Masque of the Red Death" and was recorded live to analogue tape at Abbey Road Studios over three days with engineer Chris Bolster, whose past clients include Phil Spector and Paul McCartney; it was mastered by Noel Summerville. To support the release, the band will tour the UK in November 2026, with stops including Wolverhampton, Manchester, Glasgow, Leeds, Bristol, Southampton, Brighton, Norwich and Nottingham, alongside further North American and Australia/New Zealand dates, and additional European tour dates to be announced for next year.
