Netflix has released first-look images and cast details for its revival of "A Different World," the 1980s/90s Cosby Show spin-off set at the fictional Hillman College. The new series shifts focus to Deborah Wayne, the youngest daughter of original characters Dwayne Wayne (Kadeem Hardison) and Whitley (Jasmine Guy), as she carves out her own path at the historically Black college, with several original cast members returning alongside a new ensemble of students.

The revival, from showrunner Felicia Pride and executive producers including Debbie Allen and Tom Werner, features returning stars Hardison, Guy, Cree Summer and Darryl M. Bell, plus newcomers including Maleah Joi Moon as Deborah and a supporting cast of students with varied backgrounds. Netflix describes the show as a "hopeful dramedy" centred on the "richness and complexity of the Black experience" at an HBCU, with 30-minute episodes suggesting a lighter comedic tone. The 10-episode first season premieres on Netflix on 24 September 2026.
