Kieran McGeeney will remain as Armagh's manager for the 2027 season, having been ratified in the role at a county committee meeting, extending his tenure to a 13th season and keeping him as the longest-serving inter-county manager in Gaelic football. The Mullaghbawn native has led Armagh since 2015, having first joined Paul Grimley's backroom team in 2014, and his continued stewardship underlines the county's stability and ambition after a period of strong championship form.

Under McGeeney, Armagh won the All-Ireland title in 2024, giving him a personal double having captained the county to Sam Maguire glory in 2002, and he also guided them to a first Ulster title since 2008 in his 12th season, beating Monaghan 2-28 to 0-25 after three previous final defeats. However, their 2026 campaign ended in disappointment with defeats by Louth and then champions Kerry, and as a player McGeeney also won six Ulster titles.
