The weekend opened on the Thursday with an Athlete Welcome Celebration at Park MGM and a parade down Las Vegas Boulevard featuring local girls' youth sports teams. Flavor Flav and Clark County commissioner Tick Segerblom handed out ceremonial keys to 2026 Winter Olympics medallists, after which Segerblom declared it "Flavor Flav Day" in the county. A free concert outside T-Mobile Arena, headlined by Public Enemy with support from Sheila E., Blu de Tiger and Grace Bowers, raised money for the Inspiring Children Foundation, while other attendees included skaters Alysa Liu and cross-country skier Jessica Diggins.
