The soundtrack to the HBO Max sports drama "Heated Rivalry" achieved a significant chart milestone by reaching number eight on the Billboard 200 albums chart during its debut week. This marks the first television series soundtrack to enter the top 10 in more than twelve years, surpassing the previous record set by Fox's "Empire" in 2015. The release generated 41,000 equivalent album units following its July 10 distribution across vinyl records and CD formats.

The dual-format release featured both contemporary music from the series and composer Peter Peter's instrumental score, with vinyl editions selling 28,000 copies—the strongest weekly vinyl sales performance for any soundtrack in 2026. "Heated Rivalry" premiered on HBO Max in November 2025, depicting the relationship between two competitive hockey players portrayed by Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams. The show, adapted from Rachel Reid's Game Changers book series, concluded its six-episode first season in December and has already been greenlit for a second season.
