Once you see it, you can’t unsee it: Hilarity ensues as new DC Comics fighting game is named DCKO

Eurogamer · 8 hours ago

Warner Bros. and indie developer Dropfake have announced DCKO, a free-to-play 2v2 fighting game for mobile devices set in the DC Comics universe. The reveal has caused amusement online, as the name is widely being read as a much ruder word, prompting jokes across social media that the developers themselves have leaned into rather than resisted.

The game is due to launch next year, with pre-registration now open ahead of future beta access, though no unedited gameplay has yet been shown beyond an announcement trailer featuring a roster of DC characters. Reaction has been mixed: some fighting game fans are disappointed it isn't the console/PC release many hoped for (with NetherRealm's Injustice 3 cited as the more anticipated title), while notable figures such as Sonicfox and Justin Wong have expressed enthusiasm. The mobile gaming market's continued growth, per Sensor Tower's 2025 report, means DCKO could reach a wider audience than traditional console fighters despite the scepticism from some fans.
