Lego has unveiled an official set based on The X-Files, developed through its fan-driven Lego Ideas programme, ahead of an August release. The set recreates the show's most recognisable location, Agent Mulder's cluttered office with its "I Want to Believe" poster, topped with a forest alien-abduction scene, marking a detailed tribute to the long-running sci-fi series for its fans.

The 1,478-piece set includes minifigures of Mulder, Scully, Skinner and the Cigarette Smoking Man (renamed Carl Busch), plus Mr X, Alex Krycek, the Flukeman and a grey alien. It was designed by fan creator Brent "WetWired" Waller, who first built the office in 2014 and secured the 10,000 votes needed for Lego to consider it. It launches to Lego Insiders on 1 August and widely on 4 August, priced at £179.99/$199.99/€199.99, with a free gift-with-purchase Scully's Lab set also on offer while stocks last; star Gillian Anderson has helped promote the launch.
