Nick Hakim has released a new solo album titled 'I Can See,' marking his return to solo recording after a four-year gap. Created alongside producer Andrew Sarlo, who previously mixed Hakim's 2022 album 'Cometa,' the project draws from compositions refined over approximately six years, with some material originating well before his last release. Despite recording across multiple environments—ranging from a prominent Texas studio to various New York facilities and private home studios—the finished tracks maintain a striking unified sonic character.

The album is characterised by its ethereal, atmospheric interpretation of contemporary R&B, where production techniques function as essential musical instruments in their own right. Guest appearances include vocalist Moses Sumney and musicians from the experimental music scene. Critics regard the work as Hakim's most accomplished solo effort, distinguished by its supernatural yet organic aesthetic that merges the warmth of vintage recordings with contemporary studio craftsmanship.
