Sheffield Wednesday’s players are undertaking an intensive pre-season camp in Hungary as manager Henrik Pedersen seeks to build a fitter, faster squad for the coming League One campaign. The trip is intended to sharpen conditioning and establish the physical standards required before competitive football resumes.

The squad is based at the Globall Hotel in Telki, near Budapest, a facility used by Hungary’s national team. Training includes individual 25-minute gym programmes before on-pitch sessions, with the Hungarian heat adding to the workload; the team is scheduled to spend five days in Hungary before continuing pre-season in Austria.
