Boy Harsher have announced their new album 'Get Mean', due for release on 18 September via Atlantic, alongside a new single called 'Hard Beat'. It marks the electronic duo's first full album since 2019's 'Country Girl Uncut' and 2022's soundtrack to The Runner, with the 12 tracks exploring grief, heartbreak, loss and survival following the end of members Jae Matthews and Augustus Muller's romantic relationship in early 2024.

'Hard Beat' features thumping synths and haunting vocals addressing surveillance, deviance and trauma, accompanied by a music video co-directed by the band and cinematographer Owen Smith-Clark; it follows the previously released single 'Jeans', which also appears on the record. The duo said the album blends their established synth-driven sound with new elements such as detuned pads and pop inflections. They will support the release with a North American headline tour starting in Hudson on 25 September, taking in cities including Montreal, Chicago, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and New Orleans, while also developing a debut feature film, The Lonely Woman, starring Chloë Sevigny, FKA twigs and Sturgill Simpson.
