Eight people were arrested after officials raided two suspected illegal gambling venues in Doncaster in a joint operation codenamed Snaresbrook. The operation involved the Gambling Commission, Immigration Enforcement, South Yorkshire Police and Doncaster Council's trading standards and licensing teams, targeting unlicensed premises believed to be running illegal gambling activity.

One person was arrested on suspicion of offences under the Gambling Act 2005, while seven others were arrested for alleged immigration offences. During searches, officers seized almost £9,000 in cash along with poker tables, slot machines and account books as evidence. The council declined to disclose the date of the raids or the locations of the premises, citing the ongoing investigation.
