Manchester United are facing backlash from supporter groups after suspending some fans' season tickets in a crackdown on illegal ticket touting. The club contacted fans who had used six or more devices to access ticketing accounts, viewing this as a potential sign of tickets being bought up for resale, and froze the associated season tickets while suspects were asked to prove their identity and explain the activity.

The club's official Fans' Forum, the Manchester United Supporters Trust and six other groups have jointly complained that fans are being "treated as suspects" without proper evidence or due process, noting they were given just three days to appeal rather than the usual 14 stated in the club's terms. United maintains no formal bans have been imposed and that any suspended season tickets will be reinstated before the first home fixture against Ipswich Town on 30 August, arguing the shortened appeal window is necessary because it believes some accounts are genuinely being used for touting.
