Arsenal sign Spain goalkeeper Rodriguez on free
Arsenal have signed Spain goalkeeper Misa Rodriguez on a free transfer, marking their sixth signing of the summer transfer window as the Women's Super League club strengthens its squad ahead of the 2026-27 season. The 27-year-old joins after leaving Real Madrid, where she made a club-record 215 appearances over six years and was named captain last year, and will now compete for playing time with Daphne van Domselaar and Anneke Borbe.
Rodriguez, who will wear the number 16 shirt, has earned 34 caps for Spain since her 2021 debut, including three appearances as her country won the 2023 Women's World Cup, though she has since been overtaken by Barcelona's Cata Coll for the starting role. Arsenal have been active in the transfer market, also bringing in Georgia Stanway, Ona Batlle, Selina Cerci, Geraldine Reuteler and Lisa Baum, as manager Renee Slegers builds on last season's second-place WSL finish and Women's Champions League semi-final run.
