Sheffield City Council's planning committee has approved plans to build new homes on the site of Fulwood House, the fire-damaged former headquarters of Sheffield Health & Social Care NHS Foundation Trust on Old Fulwood Road. The decision, which went ahead despite around 150 objections from local residents, clears the way for redevelopment of a building that had stood derelict after suffering two fires, and marks a significant change of use for a prominent former NHS site in the city.

The approved scheme totals 67 new dwellings, made up of 15 detached houses of up to three storeys, the conversion of the existing Fulwood House building into six apartments, and a new block of 46 apartments up to seven storeys high. The plans also include basement car parking and communal leisure facilities, though objectors' main concern centred on the adequacy of parking provision for the development. The site is understood to be currently up for sale.
