Samsung has expanded its foldable phone lineup to three models with the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Z Fold8 and Z Flip8, adding a new mid-size Fold8 to sit between the flagship Ultra and the compact Flip. The move gives buyers more choice in screen size and price, though it also complicates the decision over which model best suits their needs, particularly as camera systems and other features diverge significantly between the three devices.

All three phones share a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, 120Hz Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays reaching up to 3,000 nits brightness, IP48 water and dust resistance, and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity, with the two Fold models also gaining a titanium layer to reduce screen creasing. Key differences include display size (8-inch for the Ultra, 7.6-inch for the standard Fold8, and 6.9-inch for the Flip8), camera resolution (up to 200 megapixels on the Ultra versus 50 megapixels on the others), and battery capacity ranging from 5,000mAh down to 4,300mAh on the Flip8. The phones are now available for preorder alongside two new smartwatches, the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Watch9.
