Here’s How Much Better Metal Gear Solid 4 Looks on PS5
Konami has confirmed the technical specifications for Metal Gear Solid 4 and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker ahead of their release on PS5 as part of the Master Collection Vol. 2 next month. The updates are best described as enhanced ports rather than full remasters, but they still bring meaningful improvements, particularly for visuals and frame rate stability, which will be welcomed by longtime fans revisiting the PS3-era classics on modern hardware.
Metal Gear Solid 4 will run at 4K resolution and 60 frames per second on both base PS5 and PS5 Pro, a notable jump given the original PS3 version topped out at 1080p with inconsistent frame rates. Peace Walker will offer several visual options, including Original, Adjusted, High Resolution and Custom modes, with the clearest gains seen in its hand-drawn cutscenes, which appear sharper and less blurry in High Resolution Mode. Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 launches on PS5 on 27th August 2026, also bundling bonus digital content and the Game Boy Color title Metal Gear: Ghost Babel.
