Clash Music interviewed Lorrain de Silva, Managing Director of Best Nights VC (BNVC), the corporate venture capital arm of Mast-Jägermeister SE, about building a fund dedicated to backing companies powering live music, nightlife and experiential culture. Founded in 2019, BNVC has made over twenty investments across four continents, backing companies such as portable speaker brand Soundboks, live music booking platform GigPig, and winter sports-music crossover The Snow League, often co-investing alongside firms like Y Combinator, a16z, General Catalyst and Lightspeed. De Silva, who draws on a background spanning nightlife, entrepreneurship and venture investing including a prior startup exit, was named to Billboard's inaugural Finance 50 and recognised as a GCV Emerging Leader for 2026, and has spoken at events including SXSW, Amsterdam Dance Event and the International Music Summit.
