Fox Entertainment Exec Says AI Should ‘Support Human Creativity’ as Studio Joins ARIAM Content Coalition

Variety · 4 hours ago

Fox Entertainment has joined the Alliance for Responsible Innovation in the Arts & Media (ARIAM), a coalition advocating for guardrails on artificial intelligence in creative industries, becoming the latest studio to publicly commit to using AI responsibly. The move reflects a wider push among entertainment and media companies to balance embracing AI's commercial potential with managing concerns about its impact on jobs, rights and creative work.

Fox's Jennifer Jones, senior vice president of business and legal affairs, said the company sees AI as a way to "support human creativity" and unlock new storytelling, while backing ARIAM's mission. ARIAM's existing members include Disney, the New York Times, Adobe, Condé Nast, the Financial Times, ITV, the BBC and Wiley, and the coalition was founded by former Netflix and Warner Bros executive Victoria Furniss, who has engaged with the European Parliament and is arranging talks with the UK government. Fox has also recently invested in microseries startup Holywater and launched its own AI advertising platform, Fox AdStudio, while Furniss said the coalition is in talks with prospective members from gaming and sports.
