Chris Rock has released the trailer for "Misty Green," his latest project as writer-director and an A24 production centred on a Hollywood actress struggling to revive her career years after her breakthrough. The film reunites Rock with the film industry as its backdrop, following actress Misty Green as she navigates financial hardship, past professional missteps and a difficult industry that has moved on without her. It matters as a notable return to directing for Rock, whose previous features include "Head of State," "I Think I Love My Wife" and the well-received "Top Five."

Rosalind Eleazar stars as Misty Green, with a cast including Adam Driver, Daniel Kaluuya, Anna Kendrick, Topher Grace and Rock himself. The trailer shows Misty being evicted from her flat, supporting her brother (played by Kaluuya) through hard times, auditioning, and confronting industry figures who question whether her stalled career is partly her own doing amid an acknowledgment of racism in Hollywood. Based on an original script by Rock, the film will premiere at the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival before its October theatrical release.
