Apple is reportedly developing an upgraded version of its budget MacBook Neo laptop, featuring a newer processor and increased memory, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. The move follows the current Neo's strong sales performance and suggests Apple is keen to build on its success, though component shortages mean the refreshed model will likely be more expensive than the original.

The updated Neo is expected to use the A19 Pro chip, which currently powers the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone Air, replacing the existing A18 Pro. This upgrade could allow RAM to rise from 8GB to 12GB, while Apple may also drop the cheapest 256GB storage option and introduce new colour choices. Gurman also reports that Apple is planning OLED screens for future iMacs, alongside long-rumoured updates including an M6 MacBook Pro, OLED touchscreen MacBooks arriving late 2026 or early 2027, and a redesigned 14-inch MacBook Pro with an M7 chip due next year.
