Dhani Harrison, the son of Beatle George Harrison, has teamed up with acclaimed Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich to form a new band called Dragonflies, releasing their self-titled debut album on 18 September via Dark Horse Records/BMG. The pairing marks a notable departure for Harrison, who typically leads his own solo projects but here has stepped into the role of singer and guitarist while Godrich shapes the material, describing their creative dynamic as "one person throwing something in the air and the other person catching it."

The duo previewed the album with lead single "Slower", accompanied by a hand-drawn animated video from director RUFFMERCY depicting figures jogging through varied landscapes. The collaboration traces back to lockdown, when Harrison sought Godrich's advice while making his 2023 solo album Innerstanding, leading to sessions at Godrich's Brixton studio built around tape loops. Harrison has called the experience "humbling", praising Godrich's strong creative opinions.
