John Lydon, better known as Johnny Rotten, has said there is essentially no chance he will ever reunite with the Sex Pistols, describing the odds as "minus infinities" in a new interview with Rolling Stone. The punk frontman, who now tours and records with Public Image Ltd, cited lasting anger over a legal dispute with his former bandmates concerning the use of the band's music in the FX miniseries "Pistol", which he says was pursued while his wife, Nora Forster, was dying of Alzheimer's disease.

Lydon said he had to raise around $10 million within a week to keep contesting the court case, money he felt could otherwise have gone towards caring for Forster, and accused his former bandmates of showing "no respect" by developing the "Pistol" project for three years without consulting him. He confirmed he will tour North America with Public Image Ltd from early September, while the Sex Pistols have continued performing in recent years with Frank Carter fronting the band alongside original members.
