Kelly Osbourne has marked the first anniversary of her father Ozzy Osbourne's death with an emotional open letter shared on Instagram. The Black Sabbath frontman died on 22 July 2025 following a heart attack, and Kelly wrote that "the world changed forever" that day, describing him as her "protector," "greatest teacher" and "best friend" while reflecting on a year spent grieving his loss.

In the letter, Kelly recalled small, everyday moments she treasures, including cuddles on the sofa and shared jokes, and said she now channels her love for her father into her three-year-old son, Sidney, in whom she sees glimpses of Ozzy's smile and mannerisms. She also praised her father's wider impact, calling him a "working-class hero" from Birmingham who inspired countless fans through his honesty and music, noting she only fully grasped his influence after people came forward with their own stories following his death.
