Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Has Been Updated To Version 3.0.0
Nintendo has released Version 3.0.0 for Xenoblade Chronicles 2, an update that makes the game compatible with its forthcoming Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. The move continues Nintendo's rollout of enhanced Switch 2 versions across the Xenoblade Chronicles trilogy, following the recent release of the first game's upgrade, and signals renewed attention for a title fans have long felt was held back by technical limitations on the original hardware.
The Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Nintendo Switch 2 Edition launches on 30th July 2026, with a physical release following on 1st October 2026, and will offer 4K resolution and 60fps performance. Existing owners can access it via a paid upgrade, priced at $9.99/£7.99, with pre-orders already live on Nintendo's storefront; the update itself brings no changes to the original Switch version. A Switch 2 physical edition of the first Xenoblade Chronicles also arrives on 30th July 2026, while Xenoblade Chronicles 3's Switch 2 Edition is scheduled for 3rd December 2026.
