Rapper Ren, US artist Chris Webby and producer JP On Da Track have released their joint album 'Asylum', the full-length centrepiece of a collaborative project called Inpatient that the trio have been previewing piecemeal for the past couple of months. The record spans a wide range of genres and styles, and is notable for pairing Ren, known for his genre-blending and highly personal songwriting, with Chris Webby as a creative foil, with each said to push the other further than either might have gone solo.

The album comprises 15 tracks, each accompanied by its own visual, and moves between old-school hip-hop, ska-influenced punk, storytelling pop and references to British culture, resisting easy categorisation. Both the audio and the full set of visuals have been made available for fans to experience together, with the release framed as capturing a distinct moment through its willingness to avoid conventional or "safe" artistic choices.
