First Look at Warhammer Blood Bowl, the Free Overhaul for Blood Bowl 3 Due Out Fall 2026

IGN · 4 hours ago

Slitherine, the publisher behind Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector, has re-announced Warhammer Blood Bowl, a free overhaul of Blood Bowl 3, with first-look screenshots and confirmed platforms of PC, Xbox and PlayStation for release this autumn. Slitherine acquired the licence, publishing rights and back catalogue from the collapsing Nacon, and the update matters because Blood Bowl 3 launched in 2023 to a mixed reception, with IGN scoring it 5/10 and calling it "a sloppy, muddy, buggy rehash of a better game."

The new version keeps original developer Cyanide on board, builds on Blood Bowl 3's foundations, and adopts the latest official tabletop ruleset updated through September 2025 (the Third Season Edition). It adds the Bretonnians and Khemri Tomb Kings to the roster, and anyone who already owns Blood Bowl 3 will receive Warhammer Blood Bowl as a free upgrade, retaining their previously purchased teams and cosmetics. A playable PC demo is planned for late summer, featuring a new Rumble Mode, a faster seven-player format designed for quicker matches.
