Hulu Officially Recruits a ‘The Bear’ Favorite for New ‘Lincoln Lawyer’ Replacement

Collider · 4 hours ago

Hulu has cast Liza Colón-Zayas, an Emmy winner for her role in the recently concluded series The Bear, in its upcoming legal drama Conviction. The show is being positioned as Hulu's answer to Netflix's hugely successful Lincoln Lawyer franchise, as streaming services increasingly look to develop their own entries in the resurgent legal thriller genre. Details of Colón-Zayas's character have not yet been disclosed.

Conviction is based on Jack Jordan's 2023 novel of the same name and is created by David Shore, known for House and The Good Doctor. Elisabeth Moss leads the cast, marking a return to Hulu following The Handmaid's Tale, alongside previously announced actors including Jimi Simpson, William Jackson Harper and Kevin McKidd. Colón-Zayas won an Emmy for playing Tina in The Bear across its four seasons, which ended last month, and her casting was confirmed in a recent Deadline report.
