The incident, which resurfaced after footage circulated online, briefly put the spotlight on player conduct and supervision within the FA's youth setup, though the governing body has treated it as a closed matter rather than an ongoing concern.

A video clip lasting around a minute shows two boys fighting over a mobile phone in a hotel room, with punches, kicks and grappling, including one player being put in a headlock and dragged to the floor, while several teammates film and encourage the altercation. The camp took place in Sedi, Turkey, in October 2025, during which the Under-16s played matches against Turkey, Wales and Portugal, as well as against Portugal and Wales in November 2025. An FA spokesperson confirmed the matter was addressed at the time it occurred.
