The London opening of "Burlesque the Musical" has been postponed until 2027, while its UK tour, due to begin this weekend, has also been pushed back, Variety reports. Producers Steven Antin and Adam Paulden told cast and crew in an email that the delay is "not a cancellation" but insisted momentum behind the show remains strong, despite reports of confusion among crew over undelivered sets.

The stage adaptation of the 2010 film starring Christina Aguilera, Cher and Stanley Tucci had been due to open on 12 September 2026 at the new 550-seat Arts venue in central London. The UK tour was set to launch in Woking this Saturday, but with no set trailers delivered and rehearsals taking place on an empty stage, those dates have now shifted to November, with the tour instead opening in Sunderland in August. The show previously opened in Manchester in 2024 under original writer Antin, followed by runs in Glasgow and the West End, with a European tour also planned for next year.
