Sheffield Wednesday owner David Storch has praised chief executive David Bruce after Bruce was appointed to the club’s board. The move gives Bruce a formal role in the club’s senior governance as the new ownership seeks to rebuild operations and restore stability following a difficult period.

Storch described Bruce as “exceptional” and credited him with work across areas including the executive team, squad rebuilding, stadium safety and training-ground improvements. Storch leads the Arise Capital Partners consortium, which completed its takeover of Wednesday in May 2026 after the club had spent more than six months in administration.
