I’ve yet to smash open a Dyson Sphere in sci-fi RTS Sanctuary: Shattered Space, but I’m enjoying its take on Supreme Commander
Sanctuary: Shattered Sun is an early-alpha real-time strategy game demo that aims to revive the large-scale warfare of Supreme Commander and Total Annihilation. Its appeal lies in commanding enormous combined forces across a Dyson Sphere, while combining detailed projectile simulation and resource management with spectacular, destructive strategic options.
Players can control up to 10,000 units, protect and deploy a powerful commander, and use a flow-based economy linking generators, extraction sites and factories. The demo includes tutorials and early campaign missions across three factions; it also allows players to destroy sections of the Sphere or manipulate weather to freeze oceans. The reviewer found the controls solid and performance stable on an i7-12700F PC with an RTX 3060, while noting that the interface can be difficult to read; the full game is due in August 2027.
- Large-scale RTS evokes Supreme Commander and Total Annihilation.
- Demo supports up to 10,000 units.
- Full release is planned for August 2027.
