‘We’re Going to Do What’s Right By the Game’: Amazon Boss Speaks More on the Future of James Bond 007 Games

Push Square · 7 hours ago

Amazon Games executive Jeff Gattis has clarified that no decisions have been made about who would develop or publish a future James Bond game after 007 First Light. His comments matter because earlier remarks suggested Amazon, which owns the Bond game rights, might move the series away from developer IO Interactive.

Gattis said Amazon had not confirmed plans for a sequel or discussed the matter in detail with IO Interactive chief executive Hakan Abrak. While he said a follow-up is realistic given First Light’s success and that IO Interactive would probably be the preferred developer, he stressed Amazon is not seeking to bring every project in-house. He also said there are currently no talks to acquire IO Interactive, despite saying such a deal was possible.

  • Amazon has made no firm decision on the next Bond game.
  • IO Interactive is still viewed as a likely developer.
  • No acquisition talks with IO Interactive are under way.
