Charli xcx has released ‘Music, Fashion, Film’, a guitar-driven album that Variety describes as launching her post-‘Brat’ era. The review says it deliberately moves away from the glossy hyperpop, celestial synths and club-focused tracks associated with her recent work, underlining her tendency to change direction quickly.

The 11-track record runs for just under 30 minutes and centres on heavily distorted guitars, simple beats, digital static and relatively unprocessed vocals. Variety identifies echoes of Blur, Wire and Dry Cleaning, notes there are no club bangers, and says the album was made largely with longtime collaborators A.G. Cook and Finn Keane.
