Tony Scott later said he wished he could revisit *Domino*, his 2005 crime film starring Keira Knightley, because he believed his aggressive visual approach overwhelmed the story. The admission matters because it shows the director questioning one of his most distinctive stylistic experiments, despite regarding the film fondly.

Inspired by the real-life bounty hunter Domino Harvey, the film used fractured editing, intense colour treatment and rapid pacing to reflect the drug-fuelled environment Scott encountered while researching bounty hunters. Scott said Richard Kelly’s script was strong, but felt he had not allowed the film enough room to develop; *Domino* was made for an estimated $50 million and grossed about $23.5 million worldwide.
