Seth Green’s long-shelved animated sitcom Star Wars: Detours will be shown publicly for the first time as part of an exhibit at the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art in Los Angeles. The screenings give audiences access to a project cancelled after Disney acquired Lucasfilm, and mark a rare revival of material that had remained unseen despite being substantially completed.

Green announced that a curated selection of episodes will play in the museum’s theatre programme, describing the original concept as “Simpsons in the Star Wars universe”. The series was announced in 2012, with 39 episodes reportedly completed by late 2013 before it was shelved; the Lucas Museum is due to open on 22 September and will feature two theatres showing rotating film selections.
