A curated selection of the long-shelved animated comedy Star Wars Detours will be shown at Los Angeles’s Lucas Museum of Narrative Art after it opens on 22 September 2026. The announcement, made by co-creator Seth Green at San Diego Comic-Con, marks the first official public presentation of the series in more than a decade, though only museum visitors will be able to see it.

Lucasfilm Animation made Detours with Green and Matthew Senreich in 2013 as a parody set between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. Its release was postponed over concerns about introducing new audiences to Star Wars through comedy, before it was cancelled in 2015; the show featured Billy Dee Williams and “Weird Al” Yankovic, and only a brief leaked episode has previously surfaced.
