Johnny Depp unveiled the first trailer for Ebenezer at San Diego Comic-Con, appearing in costume as Ebenezer Scrooge in Hall H. The film is a new adaptation of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, and marks Depp’s latest high-profile role, with the trailer positioning his Scrooge alongside his best-known eccentric characters.

Directed by horror filmmaker Ti West and written by Nathaniel Halpern, the film appears to emphasise the ghostly and unsettling elements of Dickens’ story, including a scene in which Scrooge is consumed by a haunted bed. Depp leads a cast including Rupert Grint, Andrea Riseborough, Sam Claflin, Daisy Ridley and Ian McKellen; Ebenezer is scheduled for a cinema release on 13 November.
