Marvel displayed a changing “Latverian Witch” costume at its San Diego Comic-Con booth, apparently introducing a previously unseen character or group for Avengers: Doomsday. The shifting costumes have prompted speculation because the witches have not appeared in the film’s trailer, while Marvel is expected to provide further information at its Hall H presentation.

The costume was first spotted on 22 July, then replaced by yellow and purple versions on subsequent days, suggesting there may be several witches. Fans have linked them to Scarlet Witch, Doctor Doom’s use of magic, or the colours of Infinity Stones, but none of these theories has been confirmed; they may simply be unnamed supporting characters. Marvel’s Hall H panel is scheduled for 25 July, from 5:30pm to 6:30pm PT.
