‘Backyard Baseball’ to Be Adapted as an Animated TV Series Starring Tiffany Haddish

Playground Productions has announced the voice cast and format for its newly revealed animated adaptation of Backyard Baseball, titled Backyard Sports: The Animated Series. The project extends the revived children’s sports game franchise into television, seeking to bring its familiar characters to both long-time players and a new audience.
Tiffany Haddish will voice Kiesha Phillips, while Donald Faison, Christopher Mint-Plasse, Arturo Castro as Pablo Sanchez and others will also appear. The programme will comprise 20 episodes of about 11 minutes, with Chris Waters as showrunner; it was announced alongside a San Diego Comic-Con panel, shortly after a new Backyard Baseball game launched on 9 July and ahead of planned console releases.
