Josh Duhamel helped bring country singers Jordan Davis and Thomas Rhett to Ransom Canyon’s fictional Season 2 music festival, using a personal connection with Davis to begin the process. The concert supports a storyline in which Quinn, played by Minka Kelly, organises a festival to boost the struggling Texas town, making the performers’ appearances central to the season’s setting and themes.

Duhamel had previously contacted Davis after using his song “Buy Dirt” as his wedding song and learning that the singer would perform near Devil’s Lake, North Dakota. Although they did not meet then, they stayed in touch, and Duhamel later invited Davis via Instagram; negotiations between their representatives made the appearance possible, with Rhett also joining. Quinn’s festival is inspired by the town’s musical heritage and her wish to counter her mother Claire’s plan to sell Quinn’s home.
