Amazon has moved Tomb Raider: Catalyst’s planned release to 2028, extending another delay for the franchise after Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis was also postponed. The change matters because the two games were originally announced for consecutive releases in 2026 and 2027, while Amazon is seeking to establish Tomb Raider as part of Amazon Luna’s original-content line-up.

Amazon gaming head Jeffrey Gattis disclosed the new 2028 window in an interview about Luna, saying Legacy of Atlantis will arrive on 12 February 2027 before the next title follows. Catalyst had previously only been given a 2027 release year, so the exact scale of the delay is unclear; Amazon has not confirmed whether Luna strategy contributed. Some fans have responded positively, preferring more development time to a rushed release.
