Marvel Studios' latest Hall H update at San Diego Comic-Con has confirmed that Black Panther 3 is now in production, with a significant new addition: David Jonsson (Alien: Romulus, The Long Walk) will play the son of T'Challa, taking on the mantle of a new Black Panther alongside Shuri. This adds to a raft of previously reported reveals, including new Avengers: Doomsday footage and casting, cementing a busy few years ahead for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Black Panther 3 is set for release on 15 December 2028, with plot details still scarce beyond the new lead character. Elsewhere at the panel, Ryan Reynolds appeared in a grey X-Force Deadpool costume, though his involvement in Doomsday remains unconfirmed, while exclusive convention footage reportedly confirmed a strong Fantastic Four/Doctor Doom connection in that film, accompanied by a new poster. These join earlier-announced elements such as the Avengers: Endgame Encore cinema re-release on 25 September, Ryan Gosling's confirmed casting as Ghost Rider for a 2028 solo film, and Hayley Atwell's return as Peggy Carter.
