Marvel has confirmed "Black Panther 3" at San Diego Comic-Con, with Winston Duke returning as M'Baku and British actor David Jonsson joining the cast as Prince T'Challa II, son of the late Chadwick Boseman's character. Duke voiced strong support for the casting choice, saying he trusts Jonsson as an artist as well as director Ryan Coogler and the wider Marvel executive team, and pledged to welcome Jonsson into the franchise with the same warmth he received when "Black Panther" became his own first film role.

The third instalment will be directed once again by Ryan Coogler, following on from "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever", with Letitia Wright reprising her role as Shuri, and is scheduled for release on 15 December 2028. Duke also has "Avengers: Doomsday" arriving on 18 December, whose trailer has racked up 503 million views since Monday, while the original 2018 "Black Panther" grossed $1.3 billion worldwide and won three of its seven Oscar nominations.
