The first two Enola Holmes films, released in 2020 and 2022 under director Harry Bradbeer, were well received by critics and audiences alike. For the third outing, writer Jack Thorne returned, but directing duties passed to Philip Barantini, known for the acclaimed series Adolescence; despite this creative shift, the film has not matched its predecessors in critical reception, and its Netflix chart performance has dropped off quickly following its opening week.
