‘Halo’ Remake Officially Launches Early With One Big Condition
Xbox Game Studios has given select players early access to its highly anticipated remake of Halo: Combat Evolved, five days ahead of its official launch. Halo: Campaign Evolved reimagines the original 2001 game to mark the 25th anniversary of both the Halo franchise and the Xbox platform, and the early access offer will boost anticipation ahead of the full release.
The remake retains much of the original campaign while adding new gameplay mechanics, weapons and story content, including three new prequel missions following Master Chief and Sergeant Johnson behind Covenant enemy lines. The game officially launches on 28 July 2026 for PlayStation 5, Windows and Xbox Series X/S, but those who buy the Premium or Collector's Edition have been able to start playing from 23 July.
