‘Bowls him!’… twice! – two in two for Tongue as Smeed and Ahmed fall
Manchester Super Giants gained early momentum in their Hundred T20 match against Birmingham Phoenix through bowler Josh Tongue, who removed two opposition batsmen in successive deliveries. Tongue's back-to-back dismissals of Smeed and Ahmed set a difficult tone for Phoenix's chase.
Phoenix now face the challenge of scoring 188 runs to win whilst already having lost important early-order wickets. The Super Giants had been boosted by a substantial 90-run innings from Jos Buttler, providing a competitive total for their opponents to pursue.
