Jos Buttler hit a superb 90 as Manchester Super Giants thrashed Birmingham Phoenix by 87 runs, extending their winning start to The Hundred 2026. The England wicketkeeper-batter, in fine form after a recent T20 high score of 131 against India, powered Super Giants to the second-highest total ever recorded at Old Trafford before Phoenix collapsed to just 100 all out, suffering their first defeat of the season.

Buttler struck seven fours and five sixes in his 50-ball innings, reaching his half-century in just 31 balls, as Super Giants recovered from early wickets to post 187-5, with Tom Moores also chipping in an unbeaten 39. In reply, Josh Tongue removed Will Smeed and Rehan Ahmed in consecutive balls, while Liam Dawson took 3-15 as Phoenix slumped to 43-4 and never recovered, with captain Donovan Ferreira's 23 the top score. The men's match was delayed by 30 minutes after the earlier women's fixture was washed out.
