A teaser trailer for a cancelled Myst game, known as Project Anglerfish, has been released by developer Cyan Worlds. The video, titled "A path not taken," was shared to give fans a bittersweet glimpse of a project that will never see release, offering a rare public look at cancelled game development.

The trailer was presented by development director Hannah Gamiel and creative director Eric A. Anderson, who explained the team spent four months building the prototype over a year ago before it was shelved "for a variety of reasons." Originally intended only for publisher eyes, the footage shows a visually striking world with subterranean pathways and puzzles centred on finding a mysterious book for a wealthy benefactor. Cyan confirmed it remains committed to developing new games within the Myst universe, despite this particular project's cancellation.
